Bowled over following the news of $10,000 funding support through the NSW Governments Community Building Partnership (CBP) program, members of the Lithgow City Bowling club couldn’t be happier.
The new No 2 green, that will hopefully come into play in February, was an expensive exercise at around $130,000 for the club.
It required a complete lift out of the old and the building of the new with the placement of soil, drainage works and turf to complete the green.
Now the club is just watching the grass grow waiting for it to be ready.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said, “The Lithgow City Bowling Club were seeking support for the development of a bowling green and through the CBP this project will benefit from a $10,000 grant. Applications for the 2017 program will be called for mid-2017.
Appeared first in the Lithgow Mercury.
